Georgia is split up into 5 major regions. The Appalachian Plateau, Blue Ridge, Ridge and Valley, Piedmont, and the Coastal Plain. There are many differences in these 5 regions. For instance, The Appalachian Plateau is the smallest and the Coastal Plain is the largest. Each region has something to contribute to Georgia that no other region can contribute. The Appalachian Plateau is the only source Georgia has of fossil fuels. The Blue Ridge is where Georgia has most of its rainfall. In the Ridge & Valley, mining, farming, and textile/carpet manufacturing are the most important industries. The Piedmont Region is the most populated and updated region of them all. It contains Georgia's capital city of Atlanta. Last but not least the Coastal Plain region. It contains most of Georgia's peanut, cotton, & vegetable Farms. Those are the differences between the 5 regions of Georgia.
